There's a lot that goes into making our church the one you see on Sunday morning. The following people are the ones who help with this.
Pastor Tony has been appointed as our Senior Pastor since June of this year. He is a graduate of Trinity International University and has come to us all the way from Northern Illinois. In addition to serving as our pastor, Tony will be pursuing a Master of Divinity degree at Emory University's, Candler School of Theology. Tony is passionate about displaying Christ's love through the outlet of genuine Christian community and we excited to have him.
Ronny has been working with our Youth Ministry since 1998. He enjoys sharing his faith with the next generation. He can often be found shooting pool with the youth at the Youth House or planning an outing for the youth. In addition to his youth duties, he enjoys teaching and Bible Study as he shares teaching duties for an adult Sunday School class and leads the Thursday Night Bible Study. He also sings in the Choir. Having grown up in this church as a part of a family that has served God at Starrsville for generations, he has a strong desire to see Starrsville UMC truly fulfill its mission of serving God in this community, reaching more people for Christ.
Kathleen has been a member of Starrsville UMC since 1982 and sometime later, began volunteering as our Church Organist. In 1995 a new digital organ was donated to Starrsville UMC and she continues to play, accompanying our Church Pianist for congregational hymns. Providing harmonious organ music for worship is a love offering for God and she tries to choose music for Preludes, Communion, and more to enhance worship. Kathleen is married to Harold Newton and they have two grown sons, Scott and Nathan.
